Starfield Multiplayer: – Why Multiplayer Matters in Starfield Steam

Starfield will be landing on Steam sometime in the near future, and you’ll probably be paying full price to get your hands on it. If you’re anything like me, your head is swirling with countless new ideas for your spacefaring future: What kind of ship should I buy? What do I do with my unwanted loot? Will other players interrupt my game sessions? We all know that multiplayer can change the way we play games forever, but does Starfield need it? Does it even want it?

Starfield Multiplayer Will Have Online Co-Op

Bethesda has announced that the upcoming multiplayer space game Starfield Multiplayer will have an online co-op mode. This is a long overdue update for the series, which has previously only had singleplayer and split-screen modes. With this announcement, it also seems like Bethesda may be looking to continue their trend of releasing games on PC and then porting them over to consoles. In any case, here’s why we’re pretty darn excited about the prospect of playing with our friends in space.

Starfield Multiplayer Will Have Competitive Player vs Player Systems

The first major detail of the upcoming title has been revealed, and it’s a big one. Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield multiplayer will have competitive player vs player systems. The company took to twitter to answer some questions about their upcoming game, confirming that it will be online-focused with cooperative and competitive modes.

Each game mode is focused on giving players ways to interact with other players, whether they’re helping them out or trying to stop them, Bethesda wrote on Twitter. Player vs Player combat is also a key component.

The inclusion of these PvP elements is sure to be a welcome addition for gamers who are looking for something new and different from the developer’s long-running singleplayer RPG franchise.

Player Vs Player Combat in Space

One of the things we’ve been asked about a lot when talking about multiplayer is how it will work. Well, I can tell you that there are two modes for player vs player combat, depending on whether you want to play with other players or not. It’s worth noting that if you want to play against other players then your game experience is going to be a lot different than if you were playing with others. In this section I’ll talk more about these two modes and also discuss some of the mechanics that make them special.

Is There Going To Be Space Traffic Control In Starfield’s Universe?

Todd Howard, Lead Director of Bethesda Game Studios, has said that the team is currently working on more than one large project. We always have three projects going at any given time. We’re working on right now – you can tell by looking at our job postings – we’re hiring a lot of people to work on Starfield, which is our big new thing and we haven’t really talked about that much. We don’t have an idea when that will come out but it is coming. And we are also doing Elder Scrolls VI, but that is a ways off as well. We also have some other things going.

How Many People Are Working On The Development Of Starfield’s Story Mode?

This is a difficult question to answer, but we’re going to take a stab at it. Bethesda Game Studios, the development team behind the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, has been hard at work on this game for years now. With a studio of that size you can expect there are probably around 100 people working on Starfield’s story mode. Bethesda did not release any information about how many people are working on the multiplayer mode though so we’ll have to wait and see until the game is released!
